Our Story
blind summit
We are an independent whisky company specialising in unique, one-off bottlings of single cask whiskies from distilleries across Scotland. We also make our own blended malts. Each release features an original image created in collaboration with a local artist.
We take a very hands-on approach to whisky making; we taste, source, re-rack, bottle, blend and deliver ourselves. This takes time as there are just two of us, but it's a rewarding way to stay connected to the whiskies and the people.
THE PROCESS
We source individual casks of whisky, then release when ready or further mature them in another cask to add more layers of flavour. The cask selection, maturation and blending draws on our collective experience in the whisky industry.
The labels are all by local artists and designers. We love working with talented friends and designers to create an original image for each release. We start with a photograph that tells a story of a place we love in Scotland. From there the artist interprets that photo into their original design, with a different version appearing on each expression.
Supporting local and small has always been a shared priority for us. We champion independent people and businesses in Leith and the wider whisky community.
Meet the Team
Pals since 2007, we met working for Oddbins, like many folk our age in the UK drinks industry. What followed is a friendship thats spanned years across several countries, only to both settle back in Leith, Edinburgh.

Co-founder
James heads up the sourcing and maturation of our whiskies. He spent several years at the Scotch Malt Whisky Society and a few more in the UAE representing some of the world's top whisky brands, before moving into cask sourcing, bottling and warehouse management.
